Iran's Supreme Leader Rejects U.S. Nuclear Demands

Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, declared that the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States over Iran's nuclear program are "unsolvable," asserting that Iran will never submit to U.S. demands. He attributed the collapse of nuclear negotiations to the U.S.'s involvement in a joint military campaign with Israel against Iran's nuclear facilities in June. Khamenei defended anti-American sentiment in Iran, including chants of “Death to America” in parliament, as a reflection of the actual state of U.S.-Iran relations. Following the airstrikes, Iran halted nuclear talks, expelled UN nuclear inspectors, and distanced itself from international nonproliferation agreements. The whereabouts of approximately 900 pounds of enriched uranium remain unknown, raising international concerns. Despite Khamenei's hardline stance, there are reports that Tehran may engage in discussions with the UK to avoid renewed UN sanctions.
