Nope—U.S. travelers don’t need a visa for El Salvador. Instead, just pick up a tourist card for about $12 when you land or arrive by sea, and that’s good for up to 90 days. If you plan to stay longer, you’ve got to apply in advance for a multiple-entry visa from the Salvadoran embassy. Also, El Salvador is part of the CA-4 agreement, so you can roam freely between El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua once you're in.
