What currency is used in Croatia?

Croatia uses the euro, written as EUR. It officially adopted the euro in 2023, replacing the Croatian kuna. This change made travel and business easier across the European Union. Many locals still think in kunas out of habit, but the euro is now the only legal tender. Cash and cards are both used everywhere, from coffee shops to island resorts. Croatian euro coins feature national symbols like the map of the country and the famous Glagolitic script. The euro marks Croatia’s deeper integration into Europe’s financial system.
