Greece uses the euro, written as EUR. It adopted the euro in 2002, replacing the Greek drachma. Cash, cards, and digital payments are all commonly used throughout the country. Greek euro coins feature national symbols such as ancient figures and historic artifacts. Using the euro makes travel across Europe much easier for both locals and tourists. ATMs are easy to find, especially in cities and popular tourist areas. The euro provides Greece with economic stability and seamless integration into the Eurozone.
