What currency is used in the Central African Republic?

The Central African Republic uses the Central African CFA franc, written as XAF. It’s the same currency shared by several other nations in Central Africa. The CFA franc is pegged to the euro, keeping it stable and easy to use regionally. Cash is common for almost all transactions, especially in rural areas. The banknotes feature African art, farmers, and symbols of unity. Banks and ATMs are limited outside the capital, Bangui. The CFA franc helps link the Central African Republic with its regional partners economically.
