What currency is used in the Republic of the Congo?

The Republic of the Congo uses the Central African CFA franc, written as XAF. It’s the same currency shared by several Central African countries. The peg to the euro helps keep it stable and easy to trade across borders. Most transactions are still done in cash, but cards are starting to appear in larger cities like Brazzaville. The notes feature African art, farming scenes, and symbols of progress. The CFA franc links Congo’s economy closely to its neighbors. It’s a trusted and familiar currency throughout Central Africa.
