The capital of Armenia is Yerevan. It’s one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities, with a history that goes back thousands of years. Yerevan sits near Mount Ararat, which dominates the skyline and gives stunning views on clear days. The city is known for its pink tuff stone buildings that glow in the sunset. You’ll find a mix of Soviet-era architecture, new cafes, and museums that tell Armenia’s story. Locals are friendly, and the food—especially kebabs, lavash, and fresh fruits—is amazing. Summer nights often bring outdoor concerts and gatherings in Republic Square.
