The official language in Jordan is Arabic. It’s used in government, schools, and daily communication across the country. The local dialect, Jordanian Arabic, is warm and friendly, and people often mix in English words when speaking. English is widely taught and commonly used in business, tourism, and by younger generations. In some areas, especially near borders, you might also hear Circassian, Armenian, or Chechen. Most Jordanians are bilingual, making it easy for visitors to get by with English. The Arabic language reflects Jordan’s strong traditions and hospitality.
