The official language of the United Arab Emirates is Arabic. Modern Standard Arabic is used in government and media, while Gulf Arabic is spoken in everyday life. Because of the country’s large expat population, English is widely used in business, education, and daily communication. You’ll also hear Hindi, Urdu, Tagalog, and other languages from immigrant communities. Most Emiratis speak both Arabic and English fluently. The language diversity in the UAE reflects its global atmosphere and multicultural society. Arabic remains the cultural and historical heart of the nation.
