The official language of Vietnam is Vietnamese. It’s spoken by nearly everyone and written in the Latin alphabet with special tone marks. Vietnamese has six tones, which give the language its musical sound. In addition to Vietnamese, some ethnic minorities speak languages like Khmer, Chinese, and Hmong. English is now widely taught in schools and used in tourism and business. French still has some influence due to historical ties, though it’s less common today. The Vietnamese language reflects the country’s deep cultural traditions and modern openness to the world.
