Zimbabwe has 16 official languages, the most widely spoken being Shona, Ndebele, and English. English is used in government, education, and business. Shona and Ndebele are used in everyday life, especially in their respective regions. Other local languages like Tonga, Kalanga, and Venda are also spoken by smaller groups. Most Zimbabweans speak multiple languages and move easily between them. The use of many languages reflects the country’s cultural diversity and inclusiveness.
