Belize has a population of about 430,000 people. It’s one of the least populated countries in Central America, with a relaxed pace of life and rich cultural mix. Most people live in or near Belize City and the capital, Belmopan, though many small towns dot the coast and countryside. Population growth has been moderate, supported by immigration and a relatively young age structure. The mix of Creole, Mestizo, Maya, and Garifuna communities makes the population incredibly diverse for its size. Tourism, agriculture, and services attract both locals and newcomers. Overall, Belize has a small but vibrant population growing slowly and steadily.
