Benin’s population is about 14 million people. The country’s population has grown rapidly over the last few decades due to high birth rates and improving healthcare. Most people live in the southern part of the country, especially around Cotonou and Porto-Novo. Benin has a young population, with many under the age of 20, which puts pressure on schools and jobs. Rural communities still make up a big part of the population, relying heavily on farming. Urbanization is increasing as more people move to cities for work and education. Overall, Benin’s population is growing quickly and shaping the country’s future development.
