Montenegro has a population of about 620,000 people. Most residents live in cities like Podgorica, Nikšić, and the coastal towns along the Adriatic Sea. The population growth is slow, with some decline due to low birth rates and emigration. Urbanization is high, as rural communities continue to shrink. The population is ethnically diverse, including Montenegrins, Serbs, Bosniaks, and Albanians. Many Montenegrins work in tourism, services, and construction. Overall, Montenegro has a small, mixed, and gradually urbanizing population.
