North Korea has a population of about 26 million people. Most North Koreans live in the western half of the country, especially around Pyongyang, the capital. Population growth is slow, with low birth rates and limited migration. The country is heavily urbanized, though many still work in agriculture. Life expectancy and health conditions have improved but remain below global averages. The population is largely homogeneous, sharing a strong national identity. Overall, North Korea has a stable, urban, and slowly growing population.
