Barbados can be quite expensive, especially for imported goods and luxury items. Groceries and dining out cost more than in many other Caribbean nations. Rent is high, particularly near beaches and in the capital, Bridgetown. Utilities and internet are above average. Transportation is reasonable, though cars are preferred over public transport. Health care is decent but private services can be costly. Overall, living in Barbados requires a higher budget for comfort and imported products.
