Is Trinidad and Tobago a safe place to visit?

Trinidad and Tobago is a beautiful country with some safety concerns travelers should keep in mind. Petty crime and theft can happen, especially in Port of Spain and certain urban areas. Violent incidents are mostly related to local issues and rarely involve tourists. Tobago is generally more relaxed and safer than Trinidad’s big cities. It’s best to avoid walking alone at night and keep valuables out of sight. Beaches and resorts are well-patrolled and safe during the day. With smart precautions, visitors can safely enjoy this Caribbean destination.
