Costa Rica has a moderate to high cost of living, especially in popular expat areas. Groceries are fairly priced, but imported goods cost significantly more. Rent is reasonable outside major tourist zones but higher in places like San José and coastal towns. Utilities and internet are moderately priced. Eating out can be affordable at local sodas but pricey at tourist restaurants. Health care is good and affordable through the public system. Overall, Costa Rica offers a comfortable lifestyle, though not the cheapest in Central America.
