Djibouti has a high cost of living due to its dependence on imported goods. Groceries, especially imported items, are expensive. Rent is moderate to high, particularly in the capital. Utilities and internet are costly and not always reliable. Eating out ranges from affordable local places to pricey international restaurants. Health care is limited and private clinics cost more. Overall, Djibouti is one of the more expensive countries in East Africa.
