Micronesia, officially the Federated States of Micronesia, is known for its pristine islands, clear waters, and friendly Pacific culture. The country is made up of four states — Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Kosrae — each with its own traditions and landscapes. Chuuk Lagoon is one of the world’s top wreck-diving spots thanks to dozens of WWII shipwrecks. Pohnpei’s Nan Madol, an ancient stone city built on artificial islets, is one of the region’s most mysterious ruins. Traditional navigation, including using stars and wave patterns, is still honored in Micronesian culture. The islands are filled with waterfalls, coral reefs, and dense tropical forests. Local life is relaxed, community-focused, and strongly tied to the ocean. Micronesia feels untouched, warm, and perfect for travelers who love nature and culture.
