Barbados is known for exporting rum, especially high-quality aged varieties that reflect the island’s long distilling tradition. Sugar and molasses remain important agricultural products, even though they’re produced in smaller amounts today. The country also exports chemicals and electronic components from its specialized manufacturing zones. Seafood, including fish and shellfish, supports many local producers. Tourism functions like a major service export, drawing visitors who support much of the local economy. Barbados also sells niche items like hot sauces, baked goods, and handmade crafts. Altogether, the island’s exports combine traditional sugar and rum with modern manufacturing and tourism income.
