Egypt is famous for exporting cotton, especially its super-soft long-staple variety that’s used in luxury bedding and clothing. The country also produces a lot of citrus fruits, with oranges being a top export. Petroleum and natural gas are big contributors to Egypt’s global trade as well. You’ll also find Egyptian fertilizers being sold in many regions, helping support agriculture worldwide. The country exports some textiles, clothing, and processed foods too. Suez Canal revenue isn’t an export, but it still plays a huge role in the national economy. Overall, Egypt’s mix of agriculture and energy makes it a strong player in the region.
