Guyana is known for exporting gold, which has long been one of its biggest sources of revenue. The country also ships out bauxite and other minerals used in metal production. Sugar and rice farming contribute a steady flow of agricultural exports. You’ll also see seafood, especially shrimp and fish, going to international markets. Guyana recently became an oil producer, and crude petroleum is now a major export. Timber from its huge forest reserves adds even more variety. Altogether, Guyana’s exports span natural resources, agriculture, and a fast-growing energy sector.
