The Gambia is known for exporting peanuts, which have been the country’s main agricultural product for decades. It also ships out fish and seafood, especially to nearby West African and European markets. Smaller exports include cashews, sesame seeds, and hibiscus. Some Gambian producers are expanding into fruits like mangoes for regional trade. The country exports small amounts of textiles and handmade crafts as well. Tourism isn’t an export, but it brings in foreign income and supports local businesses. Overall, The Gambia’s exports are modest but rooted in agriculture and fishing.
