Who was John Adams and why is he important in American history?

John Adams was the second president of the United States and one of the biggest voices pushing for independence from Britain. He helped write key documents and pushed the Continental Congress toward declaring freedom. Adams was smart, outspoken, and sometimes a bit fiery, but that attitude helped get things done. He worked closely with Thomas Jefferson even though they argued a lot. People remember him for his honesty and strong beliefs about law and liberty. Even before becoming president, he was a major figure in shaping early America. His influence is all over the foundation of the country.
