Where was William Henry Harrison born and what was his background?

Harrison was born on a plantation in Charles City County, Virginia, into a well-connected and wealthy family. His father signed the Declaration of Independence, so politics ran deep in his family history. Instead of pursuing a career in medicine like he first planned, he joined the military and headed west to the frontier. Unlike some early presidents, he didn’t have a formal college degree, but he gained tons of experience through hands-on leadership. Growing up in a politically active household definitely shaped his ambitions. His upbringing gave him strong connections but also pushed him to make a name for himself outside of Virginia. That mix of privilege and frontier life made him stand out among early leaders.
