James K. Polk was the 11th president of the United States, and folks still bring him up because he pulled off one of the most ambitious presidential agendas in U.S. history. He was born in North Carolina and grew up in Tennessee, where he built his political career step by step. People know him for being super focused and promising to serve only one term, which he actually stuck to. His presidency is often remembered for big-time expansion and major national changes. Even though he wasn’t a flashy personality, he made some seriously bold moves. That’s why he still shows up in history chats today.
