What were John F. Kennedy’s biggest achievements as president?

Even though his presidency was short, JFK made a serious impact, especially in the early Cold War years. He handled the Cuban Missile Crisis with a calm strategy that probably prevented a nuclear war. He pushed for civil rights progress and laid the groundwork for the major reforms that came after him. Kennedy also set the goal of landing a man on the moon, which inspired a whole generation. He strengthened the Peace Corps, giving Americans a new way to serve abroad. His speeches gave people a sense of optimism and purpose. A lot of his ideas shaped policy long after he was gone.
