Neil had a bunch of hobbies, and flying was obviously the biggest one even when he wasn’t doing it for work. He also enjoyed sailing, which he said gave him a sense of peace and control. He was super into engineering projects and loved tinkering with machines just for fun. Teaching later in life turned into another hobby, because he genuinely liked helping young engineers. He wasn’t a flashy guy, so most of his free time was spent with family or doing quiet activities. Even though he could’ve cashed in on his fame, he preferred low-key hobbies. His free time basically showed how humble and down-to-earth he was.
