Obama’s education path is one of the reasons people bring him up when talking about high-achieving students. He attended Punahou School in Hawaii, which is a well-known prep school, before heading to Occidental College in California. After a couple years, he transferred to Columbia University in New York to finish his degree. Later on, he attended Harvard Law School, where he became the first Black president of the Harvard Law Review. That’s a big deal and still gets mentioned a lot online. His school years gave him a strong academic reputation. It also helped him build the networks that led him into politics.
