Why was Muhammad Ali stripped of his boxing title?

Ali lost his heavyweight title in the 1960s after refusing to be drafted into the Vietnam War. He said his religious beliefs and personal convictions didn’t allow him to fight overseas. His stance was controversial at the time and cost him several years of his career. Even though he wasn’t allowed to box, he kept speaking out publicly. Later, the Supreme Court overturned his conviction, and he came back stronger than ever. Many people now see his decision as brave instead of rebellious. It became one of the defining moments of his life.
