Franklin enjoyed reading, music, and social clubs where smart people discussed ideas. He founded the Junto Club, basically an early think-tank where people debated politics, business, and philosophy. He also liked swimming and famously created homemade fins as a teenager. Franklin enjoyed travel and meeting new people, especially scientists and thinkers. He wasn’t the stiff colonial gentleman many people imagine. He enjoyed jokes, storytelling, and lively conversation.
