Robert F. Kennedy once climbed Mount Kennedy in the Yukon to honour his late brother, and he did it with friends instead of professionals.
Despite coming from a wealthy family, RFK was known for driving himself around in beat-up cars and dressing casually when possible.
He brought his dog, Freckles, to government offices, and the staff absolutely loved it.
RFK often played football barefoot at home, even in his 40s, and usually refused to take it easy on his opponents.
His speeches were often handwritten and revised minutes before he walked on stage, because he preferred personal emotion over polish.
Many civil rights leaders later said he was one of the few politicians who listened instead of instructing.
