MLK was a pastor in Montgomery, Alabama, when the civil rights movement started gaining momentum. After Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat, community leaders asked him to help organise the Montgomery Bus Boycott. He was young, but he spoke with clarity and confidence, and people listened. His calm voice and strong moral stance made him a natural leader. Over time, he became the face of the movement, speaking across the country and meeting with presidents. He didn’t want to be a celebrity, but the movement needed someone like him. His leadership changed the direction of American history.
