Stephen King has been married to Tabitha King for decades and they’ve been each other’s biggest supporters through thick and thin. Tabitha is also a writer and helped him early on when he was still finding his footing. They raised children, and at least one of their kids went on to write fiction professionally too, so storytelling runs in the family. King lives most of the year in Maine and often draws on local settings and people as inspiration. He’s been open about his past struggles with addiction and how recovery changed his life and work. Despite his fame, he keeps a relatively down-to-earth home life and likes being part of his community. He’s known to be friendly with fans and to sign books at local events when he can.
