Martin Luther King Jr., born in 1929, was one of the most influential leaders of the American civil rights movement. He believed in non-violent protest and inspired millions with his speeches, like the famous “I Have a Dream” at the March on Washington. Instead of pushing for change through anger or force, he encouraged unity and peaceful resistance. His leadership helped end segregation laws and expand voting rights for Black Americans. What made him special was how he spoke to people’s humanity, not just their politics. Even people who disagreed with him respected his courage. His legacy is still part of American culture today.
