Elvis began recording at Sun Studios in Memphis in 1954, and his first big moment came with “That’s All Right.” He didn’t just sing like everyone else—he moved, he smiled, and he brought energy to the stage. Crowds loved him, and shows got bigger almost overnight. His mix of rhythm & blues and country made radio DJs pay attention. Soon he was touring across the U.S. and drawing more and more fans. After signing with RCA, he released “Heartbreak Hotel,” which blew up on the charts. That was the moment Elvis became a national star.
