Before TV, Kimmel was a radio guy. He worked in several cities, producing comedy bits, prank calls, and goofy segments. That radio background shaped his comedic timing and his ability to improvise. He eventually moved to cable TV and hit big with Comedy Central projects in the late 90s. “Win Ben Stein’s Money” and “The Man Show” gave him visibility and credibility. When ABC hired him for a late-night slot, he wasn’t a safe choice—but it paid off. His career is a classic example of working up from the bottom.
