Yep, Jordan retired three times, each one surprising the sports world. His first retirement came after his first three-peat, partly due to burnout and personal tragedy. He then tried pro baseball because his dad always dreamed of seeing him on the diamond. When he came back in 1995, the NBA basically braced for another takeover, and he delivered three more championships. His second retirement came after the Bulls dynasty ended. He later returned to play for the Washington Wizards to help build the franchise and mentor younger guys. Even without championships there, he still put up numbers like only MJ could.
