What’s student life like at Northwestern University?

Student life at Northwestern is a mix of intense academics and active campus engagement in clubs, Greek life, and cultural events. Students talk about how easy it is to find a group that fits your interests because there are so many organizations and activities to join. Living in Evanston gives you both a classic college town feel and quick access to Chicago for weekends or internships. Residential life is big — most students live on or near campus and form close communities with roommates and RAs there to help. There are lots of traditions, like big music festivals and student-run shows that add to the college experience. You’ll also find intramural sports, arts, advocacy groups, and tons of student events throughout the year. A lot of students say you can be serious about your studies and still have fun with friends outside class.
