Wilshire Grand Center stands about 1,100 feet tall including its decorative spire. The building has seventy-three floors above ground and became the tallest structure in Los Angeles after construction finished. Its height passed the U.S. Bank Tower, which previously held the city’s height record for many years. The skyscraper looks even taller because of its sleek glass exterior and pointed top design. Many people notice the building immediately when looking at the downtown LA skyline from highways and observation points around the city. At night, the illuminated spire makes the tower stand out even more against nearby buildings. The tower remains one of the most photographed modern skyscrapers in Southern California.
