The views from Coit Tower are one of the biggest reasons people visit. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge on a clear day, along with Alcatraz Island in the bay. Downtown San Francisco looks very close from the observation deck. The winding streets of Telegraph Hill and North Beach are also visible below. Sunrise and sunset are especially popular times for photos because the light hits the city in a really dramatic way. Fog can roll in quickly, which sometimes hides parts of the view but also creates a cool atmosphere. Every visit can look a bit different depending on the weather.
