Why is traffic on the Howard Frankland Bridge so heavy?

Howard Frankland Bridge often gets heavy traffic because it’s one of the main crossings between two big metro areas. A lot of people live in one city and work in the other, so daily commuting piles up quickly. There aren’t many direct bridge options across Tampa Bay, which puts extra pressure on this route. Rush hours in the morning and evening can slow things down a lot, especially when there are accidents or lane merges. Construction projects in the area have also affected traffic flow in recent years. Even outside peak times, it can still stay busy because of commercial trucks and airport travel. Drivers usually plan extra time when using this bridge just in case things slow down.
