US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Israel should strike Tehran's nuclear facilities in response to Iran's recent missile attack.

The politician responded to Joe Biden's comments at a campaign rally in North Carolina, who opposes Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.

"When he was asked the question [about attacking Iran's nuclear facilities], the answer should have been: 'First strike the nuclear weapons, and then worry about the rest,'" Trump said.

According to the Republican, the nuclear weapons that Iran is likely developing are among the "biggest risks we have." "Isn't that what you should strike?" — the former president asked the rally participants.

On October 4, a US State Department spokesman told CNN that the Israeli authorities had not given assurances to the Joe Biden administration that they were not considering a retaliatory strike against Iran. The US fears that this could happen on October 7, the anniversary of the attack by the Palestinian terrorist movement Hamas on Israel.
