Rancho Cucamonga, California is a city located in San Bernardino County, in the southwestern part of the state. The area was originally inhabited by the Tongva people, and later by the Spanish and Mexicans.
In 1839, the land was granted to a Mexican soldier, Juan Bautista Alvarado, and became known as Rancho Cucamonga. The rancho was later sold to a group of American investors, and in 1887 the city of Rancho Cucamonga was officially incorporated.
