History of Aurora, Colorado: when Aurora was founded and how it developed.

Aurora was founded in the late 1800s as a real estate development, named after Aurora, the Roman goddess of dawn. The town was incorporated in 1903.

Throughout the 20th century, Aurora grew rapidly, becoming a hub for defense contractors and aerospace companies. In the 1980s, the city experienced a population boom, with many people moving to Aurora from nearby Denver.

Today, Aurora is known for its diverse population and strong economy, with a focus on healthcare, transportation, and manufacturing. The city is home to several military bases, as well as the Anschutz Medical Campus, a large complex of hospitals and research institutions.
