Washington County is situated on the western border of Idaho. This original county is named after George Washington (1732-1799), first President of the United States (1789-1797). The area of Washington County is about 1456 square miles. This county, set up in 1879, is populated today by 11 thousand residents. Weiser is the county seat of Washington County.
