What makes Phoenix different from other big U.S. cities?

For one, Phoenix is super spread out — it’s one of the largest cities in the country by land area, so things are really spaced out. It doesn’t have the skyscraper-packed vibe of New York or Chicago, but you’ll find tons of suburban charm, desert scenery, and wide open skies. Also, it has a very distinctive Southwestern vibe with lots of cactus, adobe-style homes, and Mexican-American culture. The climate is also completely different — dry heat in the summer and mild winters make it a popular winter escape. And yeah, it’s the only U.S. state capital with over a million people living in it!
