Seattle has a reputation for being rainy, but it's more misty and drizzly than torrential. The city gets rain on many days of the year, but total rainfall isn’t extreme — less than cities like New York or Miami. Winters are cloudy and damp, while summers are surprisingly sunny and pleasant. Locals are used to it and rarely use umbrellas, relying instead on waterproof jackets. The consistent moisture is what keeps Seattle so green and vibrant.
