Is Columbus a walkable city?

Parts of Columbus are quite walkable, especially downtown and areas like the Short North and German Village. These neighborhoods are filled with shops, restaurants, and bars within easy walking distance. However, the city as a whole is pretty spread out, so having a car is still helpful for getting around. Public transportation is available through the COTA bus system. For local exploring, biking and walking work great in the urban core.
